Brown grew up in New York and played one season at UCLA in 2018-19. He entered the 2019 draft and was not picked. Since then he has been the definition of a fringe NBA center: good enough to keep getting signed, not secure enough to keep a roster spot.

The Nights That Showed What He Can Be
Three games explain why teams keep calling.
- March 27, 2021: 21 points and 23 rebounds for Oklahoma City against Boston.
- The 2020-21 season finale: 24 points, 18 rebounds and 7 blocks.
- April 3, 2025: 27 points and 26 rebounds in a G League playoff game, a record-setting night.
When he gets minutes, he produces rebounds at a rate very few players can match. The issue has always been everything around the rebounding.
Where He Has Played Since
Brown spent 2025-26 with the Grand Rapids Gold in the G League, where he was a nightly double-double; sources differ on the exact averages, so we do not quote them. In 2026 he played for Criollos de Caguas in Puerto Rico’s BSN, led the league in rebounds and blocks, and was named Defensive Player of the Year.
For 2026-27, RealGM and Wikipedia both list him with the Guangzhou Loong Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association. We could not find the date of the signing.

Scouting Report: Strengths and Weaknesses
What he does well
- Rebounding. Elite on both ends. This is an NBA skill and always has been.
- Size. A true 7’2″ with a frame that holds up against the biggest centers.
- Finishing. 57.4% from the field for his NBA career, almost all of it at the rim.
- Rim protection. A Defensive Player of the Year award in Puerto Rico in 2026.
What holds him back
- Free throws. 54.4% for his NBA career. Teams can foul him late in games.
- No shooting range. He scores at the rim and nowhere else.
- Defending in space. The modern NBA pulls centers to the three-point line, and that is where his minutes have been lost.

Moses Brown vs Victor Wembanyama
Our video asks how a center like Brown matches up with Wembanyama. There is one confirmed answer on the record. On December 28, 2023, San Antonio won 118-105 in Portland. Wembanyama finished with 30 points and 7 blocks, and two of those blocks were on Brown.
One game is a small sample, but it points the same way as the scouting report. Brown can match Wembanyama for size on the glass. He cannot follow him to the perimeter, and he does not have a way to score over him.
Will Moses Brown Get Back to the NBA?
It is possible, and the path is familiar. He was born in 1999, so he is still in his prime years. He is good enough to dominate lesser leagues, and every season some NBA team loses a center to injury and needs a rebounder for two months. That has been Brown’s whole career.
A long-term contract is unlikely unless the free-throw number changes. The most probable future is the one he is already living: strong seasons abroad, with short NBA returns when a roster needs size.
